Illya is a choreographer and performing artist based in Vancouver, B.C. Training with TriCity Dance Centre for 12 years, she developed a deep love for creating and is passionate about creating spaces for artists to explore their individuality and experience all that the performing arts has to offer. Illya began choreographing at age 12 for her school's theatre company and show choirs which eventually led to her role as assistant director for both the show choirs, and starting her own musical theatre summer camp. Her most recent choreographer credits include Knotted and The Little Mermaid; the Royal Canadian Theatre Company’s two most recent pantos. She is excited for her upcoming opportunities for both performing and choreographing this year, and is thrilled to be teaching with Bug’s Backyard!
